The re-examination of Wind farm file in Dalhem, Belgium

Wind farm in Dalhem, Belgium: Minister Borsus asks for re-examination of the file

Willy Borsus is a Belgian politician. He is a member of the Reform Movement. He was the 14th Minister-President of Wallonia from 28 July 2017 to 13 September 2019.

Environment Minister Zuhal Demir (N-VA) and Minister of Immovable Heritage Matthias Diependaele (N-VA) announced earlier this week that, on behalf of the Flemish government, they are going to the Council of State against the permit that the Walloon government issued for a new wind farm in Dalhem, on the border with Voeren.

According to Demir and Diependaele, nature and the landscape of the Voer region are in danger of being affected and the arrival of the new Einstein telescope is being compromised.

Walloon Minister of Spatial Planning Willy Borsus has announced that there will be a “complete re-examination” of the file for the construction of a wind farm in Dalhem, in the province of Liège.

Earlier this week, the Flemish government appealed to the Council of State against the permit that Engie Electrabel received for the construction of six 150-meter-high wind turbines in the municipality of Liège.

“I was and remain against the issuing of this permit, and that for reasons of spatial planning and urban planning,” Borsus (MR) said in a statement to Belga.

“As I suspected, appeals have now been announced or filed. I will ask for a complete re-examination of this file without delay,” he added.
