The double homicide investigation in Hautes-Pyrénées in France

Hautes-Pyrénées is a department in the region Occitanie, southwestern France.

The investigation, for double homicide, was entrusted to the tarbes research brigade and the Toulouse research section, Aurignac said. Autopsies of the victims will be performed in the coming days at the Toulouse Forensic Institute.

In the Desaix college in Tarbes, where the fifty-year-old was a physical education teacher and his colleague a French teacher, a psychological support cell was set up on Tuesday, to welcome teachers, students and parents of students in shock.

Monday’s double homicide took place at the same time as the school’s prom.

A man and a woman were shot dead in a small village in the Hautes-Pyrénées on Monday.

The alleged perpetrator has not yet been arrested.

A man and a woman, both teachers at a college in Tarbes, were shot dead in a small village in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

The alleged perpetrator “is on the run, he could not be arrested for the moment,” said the prosecutor of Tarbes, Pierre Aurignac, without giving details on his identity.

The woman, who was 32 years old, was found late Monday afternoon, lying in a street in Pouyastruc by neighbors who alerted the gendarmes.

Arriving on the spot, they discovered a 55-year-old man, who died in his house, a few meters away.

At this stage, the prosecutor refused to give details of the possible motivations for these crimes and it is unclear what the connection was between the two professors.
