According to the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová (TOP 09), the current Czech government has done more for the independence of the Czech Republic from Russian gas in a few months than the government of former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) has done in many years.

According to her, past ministers have missed several opportunities to break out of this dependence and have tied the Czech Republic even more to Russia.

He added that the government, in cooperation with CEZ, has secured liquefied gas supplies from the Netherlands since September, is filling natural gas storage facilities to record levels and is negotiating with other gas suppliers from Azerbaijan or Qatar.

At the same time, according to the Prime Minister, a law will soon be finalized that will allow heating plants to use other sources of energy.

“We would like to ask citizens and companies to continue saving energy.

We must act as if gas supplies are no longer there. There is no reason to panic, but we must be cautious and prepared. We are ready for the winter months.

And who is ready is not surprised,” Fiala said.

He added that the state must set an example for citizens by lowering the temperature of heating in offices and other public buildings.
