Lukashenko accused NATO’s military and political command

According to Lukashenko, Russia is not preparing for another conflict because it has enough other problems.

“Therefore, do not count on a large number (soldiers) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (in Belarus),” he said.

At today’s meeting, Lukashenko said that it is necessary to agree on what needs to be done to strengthen the security of the state, taking into account the rapidly changing situation.

In the West, the prevailing opinion is that the Belarusian army will directly intervene in the Russian campaign in Ukraine.

According to Lukashenko, NATO’s military and political command is therefore directly considering aggression against Belarus, including a nuclear strike.

“This is not news to us. I warned a long time ago that their goal is not to fight on Russia’s side in Ukraine, but the main goal has always remained to draw us into the war and deal with Russia and Belarus at the same time,” Lukashenko said, according to the state news agency.

Lukashenko, as Ukrainian media point out, announced that Russian troops would soon return to Belarus, from where they launched an unsuccessful attack on Kiev at the beginning of the invasion.

Lukashenko said at the meeting that at an informal summit of the former Soviet republics in St. Petersburg, he held one-on-one talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“In connection with the escalation of the situation on the western borders of the union grouping (Russia and Belarus), we have agreed (with Putin) to develop a regional grouping of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus,” he said.

“When the threat reaches the current level, we start the functioning of the union grouping.

The basis of this grouping is the army, the armed forces of Belarus,” he added.

According to him, the creation of this grouping has already begun.
