Russia says U.S. intelligence controls the Leaked Nord Stream area

Russia on September 28 denied allegations it was behind the Nord Stream pipeline leak. Russia’s Federal Security Service has opened an investigation into “international terrorism” in the incident.

Nord Stream 1 and 2 have recently become the focus of geopolitical tensions, with Europe accusing Russia of cutting off gas supplies to weaponize energy, and Moscow saying Western sanctions make it unable to secure supplies.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry claimed that the Nord Stream pipeline leaked in an area controlled by U.S. intelligence, reiterating suspicions that Washington was behind the incident.

“The incident happened in our exclusive economic zone. Denmark and Sweden. These are countries that are very close to NATO and are under the purview of intelligence.

America. U.S. intelligence agencies have full control over the situation in this area,” a State Department spokesman said. Russia Maria Zakharova said today.

Denmark is a NATO member state, while Sweden has applied to join the military alliance and is awaiting approval.

U.S., Danish and Swedish officials have not commented on the remarks.

Zakharova on September 28 asked US President Joe Biden to answer whether Washington was behind the Nord Stream leak, accompanied by a video of the White House boss on February 7 warning that “there will be no Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russian troops and tanks cross the Ukrainian border”.

“He has a responsibility to answer the question of whether the U.S. is carrying out this threat. They must be responsible for their words, Europe needs to know the truth,” the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

U.S. National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson slammed Russia’s request as “ludicrous” and accused Moscow of spreading fake news.

A U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Biden’s remarks meant the Nord Stream 2 system would not be operational and that “he was right that Germany suspended the project.”

Swedish authorities on September 26 announced two leak sites on the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, one in the Danish EEZ, the other in the Swedish EEZ, and the same leak location on Nord Stream 2 near the Danish island of Bornholm. located on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.

At the time of the incident, the two pipes were both inoperative but filled with gas. Images taken by the Danish military showed plumes of air bubbles 200-1,000 meters in diameter floating to the surface.

Germany, Denmark and Sweden all identified the two pipeline damage as intentional sabotage, but did not say which side was behind it.

Swedish officials said they detected two explosions under the sea before Nord Stream 1 leaked.

A British defence source suggested that this was a premeditated act, the perpetrator may have dropped mines from ships or unmanned equipment near the pipeline and detonated them.

The European Union also believed nord stream leaks were caused by sabotage and vowed to respond strongly.
