Antonio Cassano: 'Ronaldo should retire'

  • Antonio Cassano: ‘Ronaldo should retire’
  • Psychologist Jordan Peterson confirmed CR7 reached out to him for help because of various problems in the early part of the season.

Ronaldo will return to man Utd to prepare for the next match, the Manchester derby on October 2.

They are fifth in the Premier League, five points behind second-placed City. Ronaldo has yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season. In all competitions, he contributed a penalty in the Europa League.

According to former Italy striker Antonio Cassano, 37-year-old superstar Cristiano Ronaldo should hang up his boots when he no longer reaches the desired level.

“I have special respect for Ronaldo, but I don’t like the way he plays,” the 40-year-old striker told Muschio Selvaggio.

“At some point you should realize that you can’t compete anymore, then end your career. At Man Utd, he was only a substitute.

Ronaldo has won every title but it’s time for you to stop.”

Cassano has criticized Ronaldo many times before.

The former Italy international prefers Lionel Messi’s style of play. He said Messi resembled the legendary Diego Maradona, because he “had to leave Argentina at a young age, and struggled with fitness problems, as well as the first four years of sacrificing many things at Barca”.

Ronaldo once again made headlines not for his goal, but for throwing the Portuguese captain’s armband after a loss to Spain on September 27.

He played the full 90 minutes, while other attacking players such as Rafael Leao, Diogo Jota, Bernardo Silva or Joao Felix did not play the whole match.

Ronaldo finished twice that game, besides a few other chances but couldn’t shoot.

Portugal coach Fernando Santos also admitted the 37-year-old striker did not play to his ability in this match.

“Ronaldo had three, four chances, with two delicious situations where he would normally score. But football is,” he said.

  • Psychologist Jordan Peterson confirmed CR7 reached out to him for help because of various problems in the early part of the season.

Ronaldo was also upset when he returned to play for the team at the end of September.

Due to a 1-0 loss to Spain in the last leg of the Nations League group stage, Portugal lost its lead and ticket to the semi-finals. After this match, Ronaldo threw the captain’s armband.

“Ronaldo invited me to meet him. He told me he was having some problems a few months ago,” Peterson revealed.

The meeting between Ronaldo and Peterson took place on 10/9. Later, CR7 posted a photo with the psychologist on social media with a tribute.

According to Peterson, Ronaldo became aware of him when a friend sent him videos.

The Man Utd star then read more books by psychologists and felt useful. Next, Ronaldo invited Peterson to his home to talk for a few hours.

The psychologist did not reveal specifically ronaldo’s problems.

However, he revealed in part: “We mainly talked about what he wanted for the future and some of the obstacles he was facing.”

According to journalist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo has improved thanks to his conversation with Peterson.

Five days later, CR7 scored his first goal for Man Utd this season with a penalty against Sheriff.

Ronaldo has been unsettled since last summer. When Man Utd traveled to Thailand and Australia, CR7 did not attend for “family reasons”.

Meanwhile, according to British media, Ronaldo has repeatedly tried unsuccessfully to find his way out. Several teams have publicly rejected Ronaldo, including Bayern, Real, Napoli and Marseille.

After accepting to stay at Man Utd, Ronaldo did not show the form he once had. In 6 Premier League matches, the Portuguese star only started one match and did not score a goal.
