Study: Drinking tea reduces the risk of death, prolongs life
Scientists at the National Institute of Cancer Research (NIC) surveyed the tea drinking habits of nearly 500,000 adults in the UK and tracked their health status for 14 years.
The scientists sorted by risk groups such as health status, socioeconomic conditions, smoking habits, alcohol use, diet, age, race and gender.
The results showed that drinking a lot of tea (a minimum of 2 cups of tea per day) reduced the risk of death from any cause by 9-13% compared to people who did not drink tea.
