- Two U.S aircraft carriers join forces in the Mediterranean
- Ukraine announced that it repelled 5 Russian attacks
The USS George H.W. Bush was the last Nimitz-class supercarrier, commissioned in January 2009 after nine years of construction for an estimated $6.2 billion.
The warship has a displacement of more than 103,000 tons, is 332 meters long, can carry 90 fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.
The Bush and Truman carrier strike groups join forces in the Mediterranean amid heightened tensions in Europe over fighting in Ukraine.
