Bugatti reveals more about Chiron descendant: It will be another supercar that has never been seen before

Bugatti has parted ways with its prestigious W16 engine following the launch of the world’s fastest convertible Bugatti W16 Mistral Roadster and it’s time for them to look to the future.

The W16 engine has officially closed its life cycle in Bugatti after having accompanied every Veyron and Chiron shipped in the past 2 decades.

Bugatti’s next project, scheduled to launch in 2027, will use a hybrid powertrain confirmed by autocar design director Achim Anscheidt.

The model will feature an all-new chassis with an internal combustion engine as the centerpiece of the “smaller W16” hybrid system.

The most likely engine the company could use was probably Volkswagen’s V12 or Bentley’s W12.

The leader affirmed that this change will also allow them to be more liberal in the car design process, because the huge size of the old W16 engine actually makes the engine placement area quite limited.

Thanks to this change, the new Bugatti “will be very different from the previous Bugatti models”, although the aerodynamics are definitely still optimized.
