Brazil opposes opening a nude nightclub in the British consulate basement

Brazil's consulate general said the plan was unreasonable and could violate their country's right to fully perform its duties.

Brazil’s consulate general said the plan was unreasonable and could violate their country’s right to fully perform its duties.

“We find it completely inappropriate for the sexual entertainment venue to be opened in the same building, where consular functions are regularly performed and there is a daily arrival of children, the elderly and vulnerable people,” the consulate said in its protest to Westminster Council.

“Not to mention the clear contradiction between the issuance of the necessary permits and the commitment of the parties to the Vienna Convention on cooperation in the full performance of the functions of the consulate,” the consulate added.

This office is used by Brazil to issue visas and help citizens in need, supporting the embassy near Trafalgar Square.
