The last Grand Slam of the year did not use the image of Novak Djokovic when announcing the tournament on social media.
The U.S. Open kicks off on Aug. 29 and ends with the men’s singles final on Sept. 11.
Djokovic lost to Daniil Medvedev in last year’s final, missing out on becoming the first person to win all four Grand Slams the same year since Rod Laver in 1969.
The poster posted on the US Open Twitter page includes four male tennis players Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Nick Kyrgios and defending champion Daniil Medvedev.
Next to them are last year’s women’s singles champion Emma Raducanu, Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka and legendary host Serena Williams.
The U.S. Open will draw the main round on Aug. 25, with Djokovic seeded fifth. There is no confirmation that Djokovic cannot enter the United States.
