So when the referee handed out the five-minute injury-time notice, Klopp disagreed.
Asked about the exchanges with Fernandes, the 55-year-old said:
“It was the most innocuous conversation I’ve ever had, with someone as emotional as me.
I’m talking about a situation where Lisandro Martinez fell so easily.
Fernandes said I would do the same, and I said, ‘No, I can’t fall like that.’ It’s all right.”
At Old Trafford, Liverpool did not enter the game well, letting Man Utd fight first and create many chances.
In the 10th minute, Fernandes provided the assist for Anthony Elanga to fix the post.
Six minutes later, Elanga assisted jadon Sancho to remove James Milner and Alisson, then shot a corner into the opener.
