US official: Russia is about to attack civilian infrastructure, the seat of government of Ukraine
In the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkov, which is frequently attacked by Russian artillery fire and long-range missiles, Mayor Ihor Terekhov announced the extension of the curfew, which applies from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next morning, starting Aug. 22-25.
In the port city of Mykolaiv, regional governor Vitaliy Kim said authorities planned to ask people to work from home from Aug. 23 to 24 and not gather in large groups.
On Aug. 22, a U.S. official said the U.S. has intelligence that Russia is planning new rounds of attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and government headquarters.
