  • The French government has increased the subsidy for people who change from petrol cars to electric bicycles to 4,000 euros per person.

The news comes a week after U.S. President Joe Biden signed into law massive tax and climate legislation that completely ignores the climate-fighting potential of e-bikes.

The act offers millions of dollars in tax incentives for electric cars, but does not include e-bikes.

Specifically, the French government will donate a maximum amount of 4,000 euros to those who are subject to the “old collection of innovation” switching from petrol cars to electric bicycles, or motorless bicycles.

French citizens from high-income groups will receive a lower subsidy.
