EU promotes economic and security cooperation with Pacific island nations
The EU’s ambassador to the Pacific islands said the EU has long been seen as a development partner in the Pacific, and it wants to be seen as a strategic economic partner.
On August 16, European Union (EU) Ambassador to pacific island nations Sujiro Seam said the alliance is seeking to strengthen its presence in the Pacific through economic cooperation and new security commitments, amid growing geopolitical competition in the region.
Speaking in an interview with the media, Seam said the EU has long been seen as a development partner in the Pacific and it wants to be seen as a strategic economic partner.
