In the extra 3 holes against Sepp Straka, Will Zalatoris did not play well two holes later but still won with a bogey to win the FedEx St Jude Championship.

On Aug. 14, Zalatoris and Straka tied for -15 after four rounds of qualifying.

They therefore had to play the extra hole to compete for the championship, starting on the 18-par4 hole, and both held the par first round.

The second round remained on the 18th hole, with Zalatoris and Straka both missing the fairway.

Zalatoris’ ball hit the asphalt and splashed into dry pine near the course limit fence while Straka entered near the edge of the lake on the left side of the fairway.

Zalatoris continued to bat from his spot, and Straka stripped off his boots in preparation for the second shot.

But Straka, after a moment’s deliberations, took a one-stroke penalty to gain a better position — dropping the ball on the fairway, 152 yards from the flag.

The second real shot, he put the ball up 2.1 yards from the hole. Meanwhile, Zalatoris came in the third on the green but doubled.
