US Congressional Delegation Visits Taiwan

A U.S. congressional delegation arrived in Taiwan Thursday for a two-day visit and will meet with island leader Tsai Ing-wen.

A U.S. congressional delegation arrived in Taiwan Thursday for a two-day visit and will meet with island leader Tsai Ing-wen.

According to the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), the delegation consisted of 5 lawmakers, led by Democratic Senator Ed Markey.

They will discuss with Taiwanese officials a range of issues such as regional security, trade, investment, global supply chains and climate change.

AIT described the visit as part of a business trip to the Indo-Pacific region by the U.S. congressional delegation.
