A fire broke out Thursday at a Coptic Christian church in Cairo, Egypt, killing 41 people and injuring several.
Authorities said the fire broke out for unknown reasons at the Abu Sifine mosque in cairo’s northwestern Imbaba neighborhood, which is mainly concentrated in the working class.
Media quoted two security sources as saying the fire broke out at the entrance of the church as 5,000 worshippers were praying inside, causing everyone to panic and trample on each other to escape.
