Sertraline:
This is a type of antidepressant known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
The drug can relieve itching but does not work right away, the person needs to wait for the result.
Oral antihistamines: This type is often used to treat itching.
However, the mechanism of itching associated with kidney disease is different from allergic itching and therefore antihistamines are often ineffective.
If there is an indication for medication from a doctor, then the person should follow it.
These medications can cause a feeling of fatigue so it should be taken before bedtime, avoiding use if there is an intention to drive or operate machinery.
