Prone to dehydration

According to the Cleveland Clinic, drinking enough water is essential for the body to function normally, helping to keep the joints lubricated, regulating body temperature.

Dehydration is one of the common causes of elderly people being hospitalized that can be dangerous to health.

Dehydration occurs in older people for various reasons such as: less sensitivity to thirst; tends to drink less fluids to reduce the number of visits to the bathroom, solve motor problems or urinary incontinence; fluid restriction is required due to various health conditions such as heart failure.

Nutritionists advise, older people should drink water regularly as soon as the body does not feel thirst.
