When to Get Screened for Breast Cancer?
Women should self-examine the mammary glands monthly and have regular breast exams at least once every 6 months at reputable medical institutions to detect abnormalities in the mammary glands and have timely treatment directions.
From the age of 40, every woman should be screened for breast cancer with an annual mammogram (mammography) instead of just ultrasound and physical examination as it was before the age of 40.
Women with a family history of breast cancer may start earlier from the age of 35.
