The U.S. government is believed to assume that Moscow is looking for weapons for war in Ukraine, a U.S. official told the media.
The Joe Biden administration estimates that Russia is looking for weapons for war in Ukraine.
Iran is preparing to provide Russia with hundreds of drones, including some capable of carrying weaponry, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said recently.
Sullivan noted that U.S. intelligence “indicates that the Iranian government is preparing to provide Russia with up to several hundred unmanned aerial vehicles, including weapons-capable uaVs, on an accelerated schedule.”
However, the official did not detail the intelligence or its sources.
“Our information further signals that Iran is preparing to train Russian forces to use these UAVs, with initial training sessions scheduled to begin in early July,” Sullivan added.
In this regard, the UNITED STATES government revealed that a delegation from Russia made two visits to the Iranian country.
