Novak Djokovic reached a new final at Wimbledon and dreams of another Grand Slam
Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player. He is currently ranked No. 3 in the world in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
The Serbian managed to take a big step in his career, reaching the 32nd Grand Slam final of his career by beating England’s Cameron Norries and will seek the Wimbledon title on Sunday against Nick Kyrgios.
Novak Djokovic is again a Wimbledon finalist, he is the only one from the Big 4 who can maintain a 21-year championship streak, never anyone outside the four biggest names in tennis in the last two decades won the tournament, Roger Federer (injured), Rafael Nadal (injured),Andy Murray (injured), and Novak Djkovic finalist!
In the semifinals he beat Cameron Norrie, the Briton who wanted to fight the crown on his land, but in front of him was the toughest opponent of all on this surface, although he stayed with the first set, it was impossible to overcome Nole when the Serbian got into the match and with just over two and a half hours of match, Novak beat him 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
For Novak Djokovic this is a special tournament, in a complex year, where he could not play the Australian Open because he did not get vaccinated against COVID, and amid the Wimbledon controversy of not allowing Russian tennis players, including Daniil Medvedev, the Serbian felt that this was his opportunity and took advantage of it.
Djokovic gets into his 32nd Grand Slam final and goes for his 21st title against Nick Kyrgios to close the gap to Rafael Nadal (22), who could not play the final of the tournament due to a belly muscle injury and now everything seems to be paved for Nole in London.
“There are going to be emotions, a lot, we’re going to take fireworks out of the court.
He’s a great tennis player and Kyrgios plays very well, it’s another Wimbledon final for me, hopefully the experience will play in my favour,” Novak Djokovic said as he left the century-old main court of the All Enland Club.
