Britain’s opposition Labour Party wants Prime Minister Boris Johnson to leave office as soon as possible and are considering triggering a vote of no confidence in the government if he fails to do so.

Labour Party vice-chair Angela Rayner told the BBC today. Johnson announced his resignation on Thursday, but he wants to remain at the helm of the government until his successor is elected, which could take weeks or even months.

“He’s a convicted liar who’s drowning in dirty stuff, and we can’t have something like that for months to come,” Rayner said.

“They have to get rid of him and if they don’t, we will call a vote of no confidence because it is clear that he does not have the confidence of the House of Commons or the British public,” she added.
