Iran criticized the resolution of Western countries submitted to the IAEA

During a meeting with the new Swiss ambassador in Tehran, Iranian President Raisi said the move “violates the spirit of negotiations” and showed “the contradictory behavior of the four countries.”

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday criticized the U.S. and britain, Germany and France’s submission of an anti-Tehran resolution to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) board of directors as “irresponsible” as nuclear talks continue.

Speaking during a meeting with Nadine Olivieri Lozano, the new Swiss ambassador to Tehran, Raisi said the move “violates the spirit of negotiations” and shows the “contradictory behavior of the four countries.”

He said the U.S. needs to decide whether to maintain its commitment to negotiating and agreement requirements.

In June, the IAEA’s Board of Directors adopted an anti-Iran resolution submitted by the United States, Britain, France and Germany after it issued a report saying Tehran “has not yet accepted credible technical explanations” of the amount of uranium that appeared at three unpublished facilities.

Iranian officials dismissed the report, saying Tehran had made no secret of any nuclear activity.
