Belarus freezes foreign shares in 190 companies

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Moscow launched the military operation because it was “provoked” by Kiev.

He said the Belarusian army was not currently fighting in Ukraine but would go to war If Russia is attacked.

Belarus announced it was freezing shareholder stakes from “unfriendly” countries in 190 companies, in response to Western sanctions.

According to the decree posted on Belarus’s official legislative portal today, shareholders from countries “acting unfriendly to Belarusian entities and individuals are prohibited from transferring their shares” in 190 companies in the country.
