18 migrants dead after storming Spanish enclave fences
Today’s storming would be the result of an evacuation of a migrant camp. The makeshift camp was near the border crossing. Yesterday, the Moroccan police intervened with violence. Today there was already more border security than usual.
18 African migrants have succumbed to injuries sustained during the storming of border fences in Morocco’s Spanish enclave of Melilla.
In the tribulation they were killed.
The authorities in the Moroccan border town of Nador have reported this. Nearly eighty other migrants and about 140 agents and other security personnel were injured.
Most of the security personnel were injured in the attempts to stop the migrants, says the Moroccan Interior Ministry.
