Bill Cosby found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl 47 years ago
Cosby is an American comedian, actor, and author. He began his career as a stand-up comedian at the Hungry I nightclub in San Francisco during the 1960s.
The court decision came nearly a year after his criminal conviction for another sexual assault in Pennsylvania was overturned and after he was released from prison — where he spent two years — on a three-year sentence for drugging and abusing a former basketball player.
This lawsuit by Huth was one of the last remaining legal claims against Cosby after his defense managed to resolve other cases.
A Los Angeles jury found comedian and actor Bill Cosby guilty of sexually assaulting Judy Huth as a 16-year-old girl in 1975.
The court, made up of eight women and four men, has ordered Cosby to compensate Huth with $500,000 (476,000 euros) for causing him damages, although he was not sentenced with any criminal conviction.
According to them , Cosby allegedly “intentionally” provoked a harmful sexual assault on Huth, since the actor knew that she was under 18 years old when he harassed her in one of the rooms of the well-known Playboy Mansion, located in Los Angeles (California).
