Israeli Interior Minister expected in Morocco on Monday
The trip follows Foreign Minister Yair Lapid’s visit to the kingdom last August and Defense Minister Benny Gantz’s visit in November, when he signed a historic defense cooperation agreement.
Lapid is an Israeli politician and former journalist who has served as Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister since 2021
Ayelet Shaked who is an Israeli politician, activist, and software engineer who currently serves as the Minister of the Interior is expected in Morocco on Monday.
Israel’s interior minister is expected in Morocco on Monday for an official visit where she will meet with her Moroccan counterpart as well as other kingdom officials.
According to The Times Of Israel, which cites a statement from the Israeli Department of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked will be the third Israeli government minister to visit the kingdom.
The statement said Shaked is expected to meet, in addition to Abdelouafi Laftit, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, Economy and Finance Minister Nadia Fettah Alaoui and other senior officials.
Nadia Fettah Alaoui is a Moroccan entrepreneur and politician.
She will address the issue of bilateral cooperation with Morocco in particular “to bring foreign workers from Morocco to Israel to work in construction and nursing,” adds the same source.
“We are confident that this cooperation with Moroccans will help us advance the housing market and also support the elderly population in Israel,” the statement said.
Shaked also hopes to promote ties and highlight the historical relationship between Moroccans and the Jewish people.
